Entry Process
ONLINE SUBMISSION
The Western Canada Design Excellence Awards 2026 consist of online submissions; materials must be submitted by 11:59pm, March 20, 2026.
Once the deadline has passed no further submissions can be uploaded.
ENTRY COMPLETION
Be sure to read the rules and regulations and the eligibility requirements. ?
- Create your member account
- After logging in, you will be able to add new submissions and edit them until the closing date.
- Select the category you wish to enter, and submit your information according to the specifications for the category.
- Select a category and provide a name for the submission so you can recognize it easily later. This is a name used for your purposes only. Judges will not see this title you provide.
- All supporting materials listed are required. Fill in the form to provide the information required for the category.
- You can see all of the submissions you have entered by clicking the view submissions link in the menu.
- From here you can edit the submissions by clicking on the add/edit photos link and the written submission link.
- Submissions will not be judged until you declare the submission final, and all submissions not declared final will be disqualified.
- Do not reference yo?ur company name in the written submission and ensure that there are no logos in the photos and floor plans you use.
- Entries will be saved in your member account and can be edited up until the entry deadline (11:59pm, March 20, 2026).

Accuracy of submitted materials is the responsibility of the applicant. Information given on the entry form will be used exactly as submitted in the award ceremony through production, presentation, and recognition in the media.
GUIDELINES
The Western Canada Design Excellence Awards 2026 pertain to projects launched or ongoing in the 2026 calendar year. However, the project does not have to remain on the market at the time that the Awards package submissions are due. Interior Designers, Kitchen and Bath professionals, Builder/Contractors who are NKBA BC/Prairies members are eligible to submit applications for the Western Canada Design Excellence Awards 2026 pursuant to the following eligibility requirements:
- The applicant must be a member in good standing of the NKBA BC/Prairies as of 2026 in order to submit an application and on the night of the Western Canada Design Excellence Awards 2026 in order to receive an award.
- All entries m?ust be for projects completed between January 1, 2024, and January 15, 2026.
- All projects must be located in our local region - Western Canada - (British Columbia/Alberta/Saskatchewan and Manitoba).
PROMOTION AS AN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNER
- NKBA BC Member companies and their affiliates must indicate the Year and the Award Category Title in which they won or were a finalist when advertising/promoting/etc. There are to be NO changes made to the NAME of the Award category.
FINAL NOTES
- NKBA BC reserves the right to disqualify incomplete submissions without notice
- Acceptance of submissions received is at the discretion of NKBA BC
- NKBA BC reserves the right to realign categories due to volume of entries. If this process should take place, entrants will be notified.
- If there are fewer than three entries in any category, NKBA BC reserves the right to eliminate that category from the competition.
- All entrants agree to be bound by these rules
JUDGING PROCESS
Western Canada Design Excellence Awards 2026 - Virtual Judges will bring their professional experience and unique perspectives in deciding which companies deserve top-ranks and coveted awards in each category. Judges will review the submissions, and rate the work against provided criteria through a private, online system. Online judging will take place from March 21-29, 2026.
Judging criteria are outlined within each category description. The judging panel is composed of individuals who are highly knowledgeable about the building industry. To ensure fairness and eliminate any local or regional bias, all judges are selected from outside Western Canada and are NKBA?certified professionals from across North America. All entries are evaluated strictly against the established judging criteria.
AWARD JUDGING
We use independent judges to ensure that all nominees receive a fair chance of winning their category .
To qualify to be a judge, one must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- NKBA Certified Professional
- Not be a member of NKBA BC or Prairies Chapters
- Not be nominated for an WCDEA award
